Why should we move through MoveSource, when we can call a mover on our own?

MoveSource only works with the best agents of major van line companies. We use movers that we have used before and know that they will get the job done right every time. When you call a mover out of the yellow pages you may not always get the best service. The volume of business we do with the major van lines provides a certain amount of leverage with the movers, which helps when we need to solve a problem fast or need special service.

Exactly how will I save money by booking my move through your service?
We work with the moving companies on a daily basis moving hundreds of families every year. Because of the volume of business we do with the van lines, we are able to get significant discounts that benefit our customers. To put it another way, we buy wholesale and sell discounted retail.

Is there any additional fee if I use MoveSource?

No. We work like a travel agent. But instead of airlines we work with van lines. You can buy a plane ticket directly from the airline or from a travel agent. We can actually save you money when you book your move through us and we manage your entire move to make sure it goes smoothly. Just like we do for our corporate clients.

What's this I hear about different levels of service?
It's true. In many cases the 'A' rated or best drivers and crews are assigned to the corporate clients of the van lines first. 'B' rated work with the military moves. And C.O.D. customers, that's what the movers call you and other people that call out of the yellow pages, often end up with the 'C' rated drivers. When you book your move with MoveSource you get "executive level service." Since we are considered a national account with the van lines, we tend to get the best drivers and crews. This may not seem too important now, but when you consider boxing up your whole life and putting it in a truck, you do want the best people handling all of your worldly possessions, don't you?

Can you provide all the services of a major van line?

Yes. Any or all of the services available from a van line are also available when you book your move through us. Some of the services include packing, crating, storage, appliance service, automobile transport, debris removal, etc.

What if I already called a van line on my own?
Generally, most of our customers call us first and we can provide you more than one estimate if necessary. But if you have already called a van line on your own, just fax us the quote (no obligation) and MoveSource will give you an "apples to apples" quotation based on that mover's survey. We will not be able to use the same van line if you already called them on your own. If nothing else, you will know if you are getting a fair deal.

Do you give an estimate or a guaranteed price?

We give you a guaranteed price in advance so you know exactly what the move will cost. If you get an estimate from a mover, remember that it is only an estimate and it might change when you least expect it.

How are my household goods protected in case of damage?
The basic movers coverage is equal to 60 cents per pound. In other words, if they drop and damage your $2000 computer, that only weighs 20 pounds, the maximum you will receive is $12.00 (yes, twelve dollars!!). The best way to protect your shipment is to have Full Value Replacement Coverage, which will repair or replace a damaged item and will cover matched sets and matched pairs. That means if one article of a matched pair or set cannot be duplicated, i.e., matching fabric on two chairs, both would have to be re-covered even if only one article was actually damaged. Most movers will charge you for Full Value Replacement Coverage. If you book your move through MoveSource, you will receive the Full Value Replacement Coverage, up to $75,000, at no additional charge (additional coverage can be provided at a nominal cost). Just one more way we try to save you money and protect your possessions. Another important point to consider is that MoveSource will assist you in settling a claim with the van line. A recent article in the New York Times states "Moving companies are not looking for repeat business. The average person moves every 5 to 7 years, and the movers figure that's long enough for you to forget how traumatic your move was." Think about it, if you move from California to New York, will you be doing business with the mover in California ever again or in the near future? Is the mover motivated to resolve any problems in a speedy manner? Will you enjoy making repeated long distance calls back to the mover? The moving companies we work with are looking for business from MoveSource and they make an extra effort to keep our customers happy. Let us assist you with any problems. You have too many other things to worry about in setting up your new home.
